Nuking The Flu

Christine and the kids caught the flu this year and it was a particularly nasty one.  The hacking from the  children was that dry, inexorable cough that makes you cringe when one cough leads into a run of successive coughs that just doesn't want to stop.  It's awful.

So when I started getting a swollen throat, I decided to take evasive action.

Isn’t vitamin D toxic? Not if we take the same amount nature intended when we go out in the sun [1]. Vieth attempted to dispel unwarranted fears in medical community of physiological doses of vitamin D in 1999 with his exhaustive and well-written review.

His conclusions: fear of vitamin D toxicity is unwarranted, and such unwarranted fear, bordering on hysteria, is rampant in the medical profession [2].

Lately I have been on a pretty big Vitamin D kick.  There are a number of reasons which I'll probably list out over time in subsequent postings.  But this is a vitamin you need to check out.  It has been greatly undersold but lately has been getting a lot more attention.  Turns out it might be the closest thing we have to a miracle cure when it comes to vitamins and nutrition.
