I doubt whether, in any real science, a member of this "caliber" would be able to last this long before he is outed and exposed as a complete fraud. While Sharma's shame is rightfully the subject of this particular article, there is a far deeper issue(s) here starting with our (as in "We the people...") standards for what we accept as "scientific". Our tolerance must be so low that we have rendered ourselves blind to the fact that a subject like psychiatry must be a bunch of bunk after all. Otherwise this guy would have never made it this far.
I mean, if this same thing were to happen in, say, the aerospace industry, the evidence of planes dropping from the sky, or engines blowing up, or what have you, would expose him as a non-scientist almost immediately, don't you think? In psychiatry, I think they are so used to hearing themselves continuously espouse so much absolute shite that they can't tell the difference between a faker and the real McCoy any longer.
"A psychiatrist who regularly appeared as an expert on the BBC [my emphasis] has been struck off the medical register after he lied about his academic qualifications and performed unethical drugs tests on mentally ill patients."
Link: The Frightening Rise of ADHD Drugs Among Children and Their Parents.
In another perverse twist to the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with potentially dangerous drugs, parents of children already taking such medications are almost 10 times more likely to take one themselves. Even worse, some 60 percent were mothers, although ADHD had been thought to be almost three times more common among males.
These dire numbers come from a review of prescription claims generated by more than 100,000 children (ages 5-19) and their parents in 2005 by Medco Health Solutions. More by the numbers:
* The chances of a second child in the same family taking an ADHD drug doubled when a parent also took one.
* In cases where both parent and child took an ADHD drug, parents began drug therapy first more than 40 percent of the time.
* Adults began taking an ADHD drug at age 43 while children start at age 13.
* According to an earlier Medco analysis, ADHD drug use among women had exploded 164 percent from 200-05.There's no need to expose your family or yourself to a potentially hazardous ADHD drug that can cause hallucinations, especially when there are safer and more natural solutions available. A few to consider:
1. Avoid processed foods.
2. Rebalance your intake of omega-3 fats by taking a high quality fish or krill oil daily.
3. Reduce, with the plan to eliminate, grains and sugars from your diet.
What a load. This isn't science! Science means that they have discovered a cause. "Inadequate product or functioning of seratonin..." is a symptom. The question is of what. If you can still ask "why is that?", it means they haven't found the actual cause of the symptom. This study is incomplete at best.
Science also implies that the causation discovered can be observable by anyone who makes a test of it as an actual causative factor. Where is that evidence? The answer is simple: it doesn't exist. If it did, you could bet that it would be in this article instead of this watered down pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo.
I'd never settle for this as an answer, I don't care how many people have road rage. Because if you treat the wrong cause, it will only get worse.
Of course, Big Pharma's pockets will get deeper, so I guess that's a benefit--just not to you or me...or mankind.
"...the disorder involves inadequate production or functioning of serotonin, a mood-regulating and behavior-inhibiting brain chemical."
As a society, we have been duped to no end by the psycho-pharmaceutical complex. Parents need to look at the evidence not the apparently smiling faces that are put in front of them by television ads paid for by drug companies.

The matter of the drugs then, and the condition they are supposed to treat, is a very serious issue. The use of potentially deadly drugs to treat non-life-threatening illness is a serious question of medical ethics. This is especially serious in light of the fact that there is no certain proof that even one child actually has the brain disorder termed ADHD. The neurotransmitter theory, though broadly promoted as fact by the industry, has never been proven.
This press release was just sent to me. It's fantastic in a horrifying way, to see the statistics on how many of the teen suicides were already on a psychiatric drug!
