Mvelopes.com (see above graphic) is by far one of my most favorite-ist web programs right now. Remember the olden days when you could budget because you came home with cash and put it in envelopes, thereby knowing exactly what you could spend on a given thing? 'MEMBER?
Well this system is baaaaack and it's better than before because it is dig-uh-tul. That means you can access the data from your PC, or from a cell phone. You can be window shopping that new dress and then go "uh, do I even have any money in the New Dress envelope?..." Seconds later you'll know the answer! AND, no money is handled by Mvelopes.com. It's just giving you data and allowing you to set the amount for each envelope. As transactions come in, they are deducted from your envelope either manually by you, or you can set "rules" which will say something like: "ever time I buy from ACME Grocer, deduct that from Groceries envelope", thereby saving you more time for aforementioned window shopping.
This is goodness people! This is breaking the yoke of indebtedness Americans have brought on themselves one misinformed credit card transaction at a time. It's the hope for financial freedom.
